See what Ireland has in store for you
Housed in a stunning 17th Century Georgian building, the James Joyce Centre is dedicated to promoting understanding of the life and works of James Joyce. Set over three floors, the Centre covers Joyce’s life and work with a permanent interactive exhibition on Ulysses. Whether you’re a true Joycean or a literary novice there is plenty to learn about and a wonderful insight into the Dublin that inspired Joyce’s work. The original door from No. 7 Eccles Street, the home of Leopold Bloom in 'Ulysses' is displayed at the Centre along with many other fascinating items. There are also free audio tours of the building, Joycean walking tours around Dublin city, regular lectures, events and educational courses. The James Joyce Centre has been the organiser of the Bloomsday Festival since 1994. It occurs every year on the 16th of June. Check their website for details. Only the ground floor is wheelchair accessible at this time. The Centre is closed on Mondays from October to March; also closed on St Patrick's Day, Easter Sunday & Easter Monday and at Christmas.
