See what Ireland has in store for you
•Re-opening from 13th August - (4 days per week, Thursday – Sunday) •£9 per adult •Self guided tour. The Park is spread out over 30 acres and it is recommended that you leave between 2-3 hours to explore. A world to excite your inner explorer. Immerse yourself in the story of the brave emigrants who made the journey across the Atlantic to America hundreds of years ago. Wander through the thatched cottages and log cabins and meet costumed characters who will show you traditional crafts, tell you a few stories and maybe even share a bit of their good food. Board a full-scale emigrant ship to experience the conditions faced by many as they set sail for a new life in America. With 30 buildings and exhibits to explore, masses of things for the kids to do, the Ulster American Folk Park is a wonderfully unique experience. To make the most of your visit we recommend you give yourself between 2 and 3 hours to explore all that the museum has to offer within its galleries and on the outdoor historical site. Not to be missed locations include: Emigrants Gallery, Mellon Homestead, Campbell House, Hughes House, Ulster Street, Ship & Dockside Gallery, American Street, Samuel Fulton Stone House, West Pennsylvania Log House, Tennessee Rogan Plantation House. What to wear during your visit: As much of the Museum is in a large open air site, it is recommended that sensible shoes are worn, appropriate clothing is worn for the time of year, and waterproofs are brought for potentially rainy days. Eating: After exploring the museum, refuel and relax in our café – serving a range of hot and cold drinks and snacks. Picnic tables are located around the perimeter of the main public car park. Food and drink items are not allowed in our galleries. Shopping: The main gift shop in the Ulster American Folk Park is open to all. We have a wide range of gifts inspired by our collections. These include books, toys and souvenirs. Why not take a trip down memory lane in O’Doherty’s shop on Ulster Street and ask for a quarter of sweets, weighed out in the traditional way by a guide in costume? Every sale supports National Museums NI.
