Lough Ree (East) Caravan & Camping is a friendly site is situated on the eastern shore of Lough Ree in Ballykeeran, a beautiful village, just 3km from Athlone Town. With its own jetty, and boat slip, ideal for fishing, canoeing, windsurfing, sailing or simply to watch the stunning sunsets over the lake. The site also borders a 500m stretch of the Breensford Trout River. A great base for touring the midlands, taking daily cruises on the River Shannon, visiting the famous monastic site on Clonmacnoise, taking scenic walks along the lake or just enjoying the peace and tranquility of its beautiful setting, it is also a perfect location from which to take day trips to almost any part of the country. Lough Ree (East) Caravan & Camping are located less than a mile from Wineport Lodge and only 2 miles from the beautiful village of Glasson - The Village of the Roses - with its wonderful restaurants and scenic golf course and hotel. Lough Ree (East) Caravan & Camping cater for groups, welcome well behaved dogs on a leash, Lough Ree (East) Caravan and Camping don't accept credit cards. On site facilities include Toilet Block (Including disabled toilet and shower facilities), Campers' Kitchen, Recreation Room, Laundry Room, Free WiFi is available, a 2 minute walk to the local Pub. Lough Ree (East) Caravan & Camping also have the following activities Nearby Golf, Horse Riding, Sailing, Athlone Castle, Glendeer Pet Farm, Bay Sports, Clonmacnoise Monastic Site - 22km, Boora Bog - 36km, Birr Castle - 44km.
