See what Ireland has in store for you
Kiltariff Hall is a Victorian Country House on the outskirts of the small market town of Rathfriland. Built in 1888, by our great-grandfather, the house is set at the end of a short drive and is surrounded by mature oak, sycamore and pine trees. The reception rooms are beautifully spacious with high ceilings and ornate cornicing. Breakfast is served in the dining room which boasts a large antique table and a Broadwood grand piano alongside the original fireplaces, pitch pine doors and woodwork. I am passionate about using locally sourced produce and guests can enjoy homemade preserves and soft fruit from the walled garden. Upstairs the bedrooms are comfortable with well-appointed ensuite bathrooms. The Red Kite Room has a bath and power rain shower and The Blue room has a shower as well as an extra-long king size bed. There are exquisite views of the Mourne Mountains from one side of the house. Guests are welcome to enjoy the mature garden and relax on the terrace. Of course, there is a wide choice of hill walking trails in the Mournes and we can provide you with maps and directions for most of the walks. Wildlife enthusiasts will not be disappointed . Tours are available from Redkitetoursni as well as general birdwatching/wildlife guided walks. The award winning Murlough National Nature Reserve and Blue Flag Beach is next to the picturesque seaside town of Newcastle, which inspired Percy French to write "The Mountains of Mourne," and is 20 mins drive away. Many Game of Thrones® filming locations, such as Castle Ward, Inch Abbey and Tollymore Forest Park are easily accessible.
