See what Ireland has in store for you
Explore Ireland's oldest city in five spectacular museums or take a walking tour of the Viking Triangle, the settlement established by Viking invaders in 914 AD. At Waterford Treasures Museums you can discover not just fascinating history but the history of some of the great Irish crafts such as silversmithing, glassmaking, and clock and watchmaking. The Medieval Museum is the only purpose built museum in Ireland which features two national monuments, two medieval buildings contained within the museum, as well as a host of other artefacts. Just across the plaza the Bishop’s Palace, an elegant Georgian house, is the home of 18th, 19th and 20th century treasures and features Masterpieces in Glass, an exhibition which celebrates the foundations of Waterford’s glassmaking legacy. An icon of Waterford, Reginald’s Tower houses Waterford's Viking treasures including warfare and weaponry but also articles from daily life of the Hiberno-Norse settlers. The Museum of Time displays some of the finest Irish clocks and watches in the world alongside a host of modern technology to engage and excite visitors of all ages. In Cathedral Square the Silver Museum has one of the largest collections of Irish silver in the world in a dazzling display.
