See what Ireland has in store for you
Django’s Hostel is uniquely located in Cloughjordan, in Ireland’s only Eco Village, committed to a message of sustainable development and offering various tours, courses and community and lifestyle experiences raising awareness that respects the planet. As a peaceful haven of calm, Django’s offers an excellent base to explore Ireland from its centre. Django’s has a relaxed friendly atmosphere, catering for families, individuals, curious travellers and learning groups. The seven ensuite bed and breakfast rooms can cater for up to 20 guests. Rooms include private singles, doubles, twins and family rooms. On request full meals can be organised for groups. Django’s also offers three fully appointed holiday apartments. Of local interest is the eco village itself with tours guided by a resident. You can learn about the environmental philosophy of the eco community’s creation of a model of sustainable living and the desire to encourage others to follow this example. There are local forest walks and guests can follow in the path of history along Ireland’s longest walk, the Beara Breifne Way. For more history, Tipperary has a wealth of castles and abbeys, and scenic Lough Derg on the Shannon are all close to Django’s. Thomas MacDonagh, one of the executed leaders of the 1916 Rebellion and a signatory of the Irish Proclamation lived in Cloughjordan where you can visit the museum dedicated to his honour. Mid Ireland is unspoiled by mass tourism and is full of hidden treasures for a calm stress free escape from the hassles of everyday life.
