Westport Greenway

An entirely off-road walking and cycling trail, The Westport Greenway takes 30 minutes to complete. An easy, linear trail, it’s relatively flat underfoot ascending just 40m overall. A pictorial, tree-lined route, follow the greenway from Westport’s historic town centre with its pretty open spaces, traditional shop fronts and Carrowbeg River views; to its bustling quayside. The route follows the old Westport to Achill railway line and boasts breathtaking views of Croagh Patrick and Clew Bay. This lush trail can be taken in either direction and once you’ve soaked up all that majestic County Mayo landscape, Westport itself is home to an array of welcoming cafés, pubs and restaurants to toast your endeavours in.
