See what Ireland has in store for you
Located a stone’s throw from the Garavogue River in the heart of Sligo town, Furey’s is a traditional pub, complete with a retro chequered black-and-white tiled floor and dark green walls. It is not a food destination: what sets this pub apart is its focus on live music and craft beer. A laid-back atmosphere and free wifi make this a great place to read the paper over a pint. Things come alive at night in this small space though, when music sessions ranging from traditional Irish to blues take over. Owner/manager Paul O’Donnell is a great ambassador for Sligo and has plenty of invaluable tips for things to do and see in the area as well as suggestions for which craft beer you might like to try. Visitors to Sligo would do well to call in for a good beer and good chats. Mon-Thu: 2-11.30pm; Fri- Sat 2pm-12.30am; Sun 12.30-11pm
