The harbour was completed in 1859 and was originally intended as a harbour of refuge. Dun Laoghaire Marina itself opened for business on St Patrick's Day, 17th March, 2001. Over the years, they have grown in popularity and can now accommodate up to 820 boats, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere for sailors of all kinds.
