This is your opportunity to engage in the ultimate craft beer experience through tours and tastings that will bring you on a journey from the rebellious monks of the old Franciscan monastery, right up until the present day. Learn how local ingredients impact the flavours of beers and how to judge diverse beers for their taste and quality. Highlights at the Franciscan Well Brewery and Brew Pub include: Beer Tasting: Taste innovative and award winning Irish beers made using local ingredients. Cork Brewing: Get an insight into the culture and heritage of brewing in the heart of Cork City. The Components of Great Beer: Landscape, grain, farming, soil and the growing of hops. Brew Pub: Visit their Cork Beer Gardens which serves craft beers, ales, lagers and stouts. Monk Cocktail Bar: For a different vibe, visit their cocktail bar, located just upstairs. Pizza: Try their woodfired pizza made from self milled flour and locally sourced ingredients. Entertainment in the Brew Pub: Enjoy traditional Irish music and Irish storytelling. In the Brewery Tour and Beer Tasting experience, learn about the enchanting history of the Franciscan Well monastery and the monks that once brewed beer back in the 12th century. The brewing process is outlined and explained in the Franciscan Well microbrewery. This is followed by a fun and informative session that includes a beer tasting of three award winning craft beers and insights into how to judge the beers for their diverse flavours.
