Burren Fine Wine & Food is ideally situated, just off the Burren Way walking route, for further exploration of the Burren either on foot or by bike. Safe bike parking provided while you explore the Burren on foot and free collection of bikes rented from Burren Bike Ballyvaughan. Cycling tour Enjoy an early morning guided cycling tour through the heart of the Burren followed by a delicious mouth watering breakfast at Burren Fine Wine & Food. Starting from Burren Bike in Ballyvaughan at 7.30am when the roads are quieter and the birds are singing, peacefully pedalling through this spectacular landscape is a magical experience for you and your family to remember for many a day after your Burren visit. The cycle takes you to an earthen ring fort, a stone fort, to the town land of Gleninsheen where the famous Irish Bronze Age Collar of Gold was found in 1934, Gleninsheen wedge shaped gallery grave (another of Ireland’s many Diarnaid’s and Grainne’s Bed). Also on route is the world famous Poulnabroune Portal Tomb and Caherconnell stone fort, Poulawack Cairn, the Kilconrney caves, Cahermacnaughten stone fort home to the famous O'Dabhoireann Law School. Finally cycle to the top of the famous Corkscrew Hill to enjoy amazingly beautiful views of Ballyvaughan valley and Galway Bay before coasting down to Burren Fine Wine and Food for breakfast. Here you will be greeted with aromas of freshly brewed coffee and home baking. You can choose a breakfast of fresh free range eggs from a neighbouring farm and hot scones straight from the oven or an organic smoked salmon bagel using salmon from the Burren Smokehouse and Manhattan bagels made down the road in New Quay. Advanced booking is required. The cycle normally takes place on a Thursday morning but alternative arrangements are available. A minimum of 5 people and maximum of 10 is desirable. Bikes provided or you are welcome to use your own. Burren Walks Enjoy a walking package consiting of lunch at Burren Wine and Food and a Burren walk with a well known local walking guide.
