Carne Golf Links lies on the remote and rugged Mullet Peninsula, in the Erris region, in the northwest of County Mayo, an area renowned for its wild and ancient landscape. Set in magnificent, unspoilt sand dunes stretching 150m above sea level, the course boasts breath taking views of the Atlantic across Blacksod Bay as far as the legendary islands of Inis Glóire and Inis Géidhe. The course features 18 thrilling holes designed by the late Eddie Hackett, keeping true to his philosophy for respecting the naturally occurring landscape. Carne Golf Links was the last course designed by Hackett and many say it is his most challenging. The back 9 of the Hackett 18 was integrated with the newer Kilmore 9 course, creating the Wild Atlantic Dunes course, which promises increasing drama as the holes weave their way through the awe inspiring corners of the dunes. Carne Golf Links provide challenging, traditional, raw links golf at its very best, in a truly stunning and idyllic location along the Wild Atlantic Way.
