See what Ireland has in store for you
Situated on the banks of the River Boyne, between the town of Drogheda and the Irish Sea, Beaulieu House and Gardens is a beautiful piece of Irish history. One of the earliest examples in Ireland of an unfortified house, Beaulieu House was constructed between 1660 and 1666 and its gardens remain an enduring attraction in Ireland. The garden and terraces surrounding Beaulieu have remained largely original to their early design. Family letters describing the garden at this period detail unusual fruits like figs and nectarines that were grown in the 1720s as well as crops of flax and hops. Visitors can stroll leisurely through the 1.5 hectares of historic walled garden or take the guided tour of Beaulieu House in the summer months—the house and gardens are also available for wedding receptions, conferences and corporate functions. From the drawing room of Beaulieu House a doorway leads to a large terraced lawn—a glorious setting awaits with views over the River Boyne. For functions, a marquee is situated on the lawn with a link to the drawing room, enabling visitors to dine with views over the river. To avoid disappointment please telephone for more information on visiting arrangements, times etc
