Just two miles from Ballymaloe House, Ballymaloe Cookery School has been providing classes since 1983. Run by chef Darina Allen and her husband Tim, who is a farmer, this cookery school focuses on organic, locally produced, fresh food. They have their very own organic market gardens, orchards and greenhouses, so students can be sure that they are using the finest and freshest of ingredients. Ballymaloe Cookery School offers courses in a wide range of subjects. Pizza Masterclass, Sushi made Simple, Gluten Free Cooking and Feel Good Food for Winter are just a few of the short courses they offer here. They also offer a 12 week intensive Certificate Course consisting of demonstrations from top class chefs, hands on practice work, one to one help and feedback and practical and written examinations. This course is designed for people with a real passion for food and many of the students use it as a springboard to becoming a professional chef. Their facilities are among the best in the country, with state-of-the-art kitchens, a dining room, lecture rooms, library and self-catering accommodation, as well as the beautiful gardens and orchards. Ballymaloe Cookery School is a great place for students of all levels to learn in a professional and friendly environment.
