Wicklow Wolf in part derives its name from the hop plant whose botanical name is Humulus Lupulus, Lupulus meaning wolf. The hop gardens at the brewery is part of the visitor experience to the Wicklow Wolf Taproom. They currently grow three varieties of hops at the brewery including, northdown, northern brewer and phoenix. If you are a lover of craft beer then a visit to Wicklow Wolf Brewery & Taproom is a must. They harvest by hand their own hops on their hop farm. They create some of the freshest and most distinctive beers in Ireland. Sustainability plays a key role at Wicklow Wolf Brewery & Taproom, so you can enjoy a guilt free drink made by professional brewers. Take a guided tour of the brewery followed by a tasting of Wicklow Wolf beers in the heart of the brewery. On arrival at the Taproom, you will be greeted with a glass of Elevation Pale Ale. From there you will step inside the brewery where you learn everything from where Wicklow Wolf Brewing Co. began to their sustainable brewing practices. Pre-booking for tours is essential. Stop by the bar to sample some of the latest seasonal beers and special brews. The staff explain how the beer was made and make recommendations to help you find your new favourite beer. Pick up a few Wicklow Wolf cans or bottles on your way home and introduce your friends to one of Ireland's wonderful micro breweries.
