Ballymaloe House

Ballymaloe House is a renowned Irish Country House Hotel and restaurant owned and run by the Allen family for over 50 years. Situated near Midleton, County Cork, Ballymaloe House is a building that has evolved and grown with the passing centuries, and the hotel accommodation varies from a 15th century Norman tower to modern luxury rooms. There are 29 guest rooms in total which come in all shapes and sizes, from large to small and cosy including ground floor rooms in the courtyard. All rooms are decorated to the highest standard, combining modern comforts with timeless elegance and an eye for detail. Each room has its own name and own distinct character, and all have private bathrooms as standard. Upstairs in the main house the rooms retain many original features and have enchanting old-world charm. Downstairs, new, more spacious rooms at the back of the house have views over the river and gardens. Each has its own private terrace, for afternoon tea or relaxing with a book. For guests use only there is a swimming pool and tennis court. Amenities include a small golf course on the premises and within easy reach of several other championship golf courses. Sea and river fishing can be arranged within 5-10 miles. There is an outdoor heated swimming pool for swimmer use only. Children are welcome at Ballymaloe and babysitting services are available. There is an outdoor children's play area and a tennis court on the grounds. Members of the Allen family also run an excellent craft and kitchenware shop on the premises, the Ballymaloe Cookery School and gardens are also close by. The lunch and dinner menus change daily and is influenced by the available seasonal produce from the garden. Ballymaloe House pride themselves on offering a warm welcome, tastefully decorated bedrooms and award winning cuisine which celebrates the best of local, seasonal produce. Ballymaloe is a byword for timeless elegance and pleasures of days gone by. Whilst there take time to enjoy a leisurely walk around the beautiful gardens or play an invigorating game of golf or tennis.
