Galway Atlantaquaria

Galway Atlantaquaria, ideally located along the world-famous Salthill ‘prom’ in Galway City, is Ireland’s largest native species aquarium and an EAZA (European Association of Zoos and Aquaria) accredited Aquarium that celebrates education, awareness, and conservation of our oceans, and life under water. The Aquarium has developed a unique culture of education, conservation, and celebration of the diversity of life in our rivers, lakes and oceans. Enjoy learning about our native species, small sharks, rays, jellyfish, crustaceans, as well as many other unique species. Featured exhibits include the largest indoor Fin Whale skeleton (60 ft), The Splash, a wreckfish and native shark husbandry program, a new bio-zone area with species from Africa and the Amazon, a huge ocean tank, a Bearna Logboat (dugout canoe), Red Deer antlers, and Uí Breasail (Hy Brasil) boat, and much more. An all-weather attraction, the Aquarium hosts two floors of exhibits, offers free parking, WiFi, and lots of family friendly amenities. An educational, engaging, and fun visit for all ages, the Aquarium is fully accessible, and all exhibits are designed around the visitor experience.
