Curragh Military Museum

The Curragh Military Museum tells the story of the physical environment of the Curragh plains from the fungal flora to the rich archaeological sites. The museum is sub-divided into three parts. Great care has been taken to transform the building into a modern museum which will take the visitor on a historic journey through time. Before viewing the exhibits, there is audio visual presentation. The modern Irish Defence Forces on the Curragh. The social history of the camp. The Sliabh na mBan Rolls Royce armoured car is now on display in the Curragh Military Museum. This car formed part of General Michael Collins convoy which was ambushed on the 22nd of August 1922 in which he was killed. To avoid disappointment please telephone to find out if the vehicle is on display the day of your visit as there are days that the vehicle is not available.
